Nuggets 355 – Try Hard Fools

Greetings world and welcome to my first post of 2021. We are living in the year after the events portrayed in Bladerunner but it feels more like 28 Days Later. Strange times.

I made this playlist a couple of months ago now and often return to it. The theme is that I am not sure what most of these songs are about. This obscurity is their attraction.

I have included a Bandcamp link where possible so you can connect with the artists and buy their tunes and merch. It’s astonishing how many bands share their music here.

The band has been me too’ed cos of the poor behavior of some of its members. Kicked off label etc. Sad

Nuggets 342 – Baby Baby

Strange title, long story.

I was sorting through my Itunes music collection the other day (yes, it was raining outside) when I noticed how many songs had the word “baby” in the title; there were about 600 tracks. Great I thought, lets make some playlists. I sorted them into more contemplative tunes, psych 70’s numbers, thrashier tunes and so on.

It has been interesting checking out tunes familiar and unknown, a deep dive into what I have saved over the years.

Here is the first playlist which contains mildly thrashy numbers. All fab of course. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be “Why Not Your Baby” by Gene Clark / Doug Dillard.
